The Government of Telangana under the prestigious initiative “Digital Telangana”, today has launched HY-Fi, also known as Hyderabad city Wi-Fi project today on world Wi-fi day.
Owing the title hi-tech city. India’s 2nd largest IT exporter standing barely behind Bengaluru, has launched 1000 hot spots across city and gradually operate 3000 hot spots within the city.
Citing the milestone, Mayor of Hyderabad, Mr. Bonthu Ram Mohan said, being the newest state of India. Telangana aspires to be the best state in all aspects. And also quoted that project hy-fi will set an example making Hyderabad a truly connected city even on digital front.
The government passed a G.O. to ensure smooth execution of the project for internet service providers.
The project is being developed in 2 phases. First phase now completed on installation of 1000 hot spots with a band width of 5-10 mbps (free for first 30 minutes).
